Mr.
Richard Joseph “Joey” Broussard, Sr., 77, of Pooler, GA, passed away
on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
He
was born in Golden Meadows, LA and was preceded in death by his parents,
Betty Clark McCorkel, Spergan Broussard, Sr., and Rehn McCorkel, a sister,
Melinda Bellew, and a brother, Ronald Broussard. He lived in Pooler
all of his life and retired from SEPCO. He was a member of Westside
Christian Church where he was active in selling the Christmas trees.
He coached at the Pooler Recreation Department, was a member of the Pooler
Jaycees, and was involved with the Dixieland Cruisers. He will be
remembered as being honorable, loyal, a man of his word, and a dedicated
family man.
Survivors
include his wife of 57 years, Sheila W. Broussard; sons, Richard J.
Broussard, Jr. (Teresa Ann Bailey Yates-fiance’) and Paul D. Broussard
(Sheila Faye Floyd-fiance’); daughter-in-law, Toni Broussard;
grandchildren, Blaine Broussard, Bryce Broussard, and Sydney Marie Molter
(Tyler); great-grandson, Ryder Molter; siblings, Bobbi Seckinger, Renee
Sitton (Larry), and Rehn “Randy” McCorkel (Doris), Spergan Broussard,
Jr., Rodney Broussard, Ralph Broussard, and Cindy Melancon (Rick), as well
as a number of nieces and nephews.
The
visitation will be on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Westside Christian
Church from 10 until 11 a.m. The memorial service will follow in the
sanctuary at 11 a.m.
