Darryle Lynn Padgett, age 53, of Savannah, Georgia, passed away at his home on Thursday, May 28, 2020. He was born on November 9, 1966 in Stanford, Kentucky to Leamond and Carolyn (Godby) Padgett. He was a 1985 graduate of Lincoln County High School. He was a manager of O’Reilly Auto Parts in Savannah, Georgia and in Danville, Kentucky. Darryle enjoyed fishing, old cars, Kentucky basketball and spending time with family and friends. He was a member of Freedom Baptist Church

Along with his parents, he is survived by wife, Patricia (Dunn) Padgett; two step daughters, Jenna (Dwayne) Payton and Cheyenne Dunn: one step son, Joshua Berry; two step grandchildren; one sister, Yolanda (Greg) Smith; one brother, Raymond Padgett; two nieces, Chasity (Zach) Asberry and Hannah (Corey) Dennis; one nephew, Austin (Haley) Smith; five great nephews; and Grandmother, Juanita Godby.

Darryle was preceded in death by his first wife, Diane (Sergent) Padgett; maternal grandfather, Robert Godby; paternal grandparents, Alva and Versie Padgett.

A Memorial Service will be held 6:00PM Saturday, June 6, 2020, at The Gathering Place Church, 90 Fairground Road, Stanford, Kentucky 40484. Bro. John Edwards will be officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Lincoln County High School Class of 1985.

Jim (Herbie) Flanagan   Sep 9, 2014

Mr. James P. Flanagan - ELLABELL - James Patrick Flanagan, aka Herbie, age 73 of Ellabell, passed away Tuesday, September 9th, 2014 at St. Joseph's Hospital with family and a few friends beside him. Mr. Flanagan was one of the 18 children born to Matthew and Alice Flanagan of Brooklyn, New York. He married Nancy Jean Flanagan on October 7th, 1970 and would have been married 44 years this October. They moved to Georgia in 1978, where Mr. Flanagan worked as a blacksmith, truck driver (blue-eyed driver), and a jack-of-all-trades, but always donated most of his time to people and animals in need. He was a member of The Coastal GA VW Club, Dixieland Cruisers and Companion Animal Aid (rescued dogs). James was preceded in death by his grandchildren, Gabriella Southwell (Statesboro, GA) and Elizabeth and Timothy Foy (Springfield, GA) and several brothers and sisters. James is survived by his wife, Nancy Jean Flanagan; daughters Deana Flanagan-Morgan (Springfield, GA) and Mary Pat (James) Fiess (Bel Air, MD); sons James P. J.P. Flanagan (Ellabell, GA), James P. Jimmy Flanagan and wife Maria Flanagan (Bel Air, MD) and Thomas M. Flanagan (Bel Air, MD); 12 grandchildren, Robert Robbie Crews II (Rincon, GA), Heather and Dakota Brewer (Gracey, KY), Cameron and Dillon Crews (Springfield, GA), Aron P. Lewis (Ellabell, GA), James P. Lee (Brooklet, GA), Joseph, Jamie and Jennifer Flangan (Bel Air, MD), Taylor, Ryan and Shawn Fiess (Bel Air, MD) and one great granddaughter, Katelynn Rae Brewer (Gracey, KY). Mr. Hickman Bamburg, Jr. - POOLER - Mr. Hickman Bamburg, Jr., 72, passed away on Monday, August 4, 2014 at his home. He was born in Savannah to the late Hickman Bamburg, Sr. & Ida Boulineau Bamburg. He was also preceded in death by a son, Trey Bamburg. He retired from Interstate Paper Co. in Riceboro, GA after over 40 years of service. He was an active member with the Dixie Land Cruisers Car Club. His 1928 yellow Model A car was his pride and joy. Survivors include his wife, Shirley McDonald Bamburg; children, Kim Bamburg Smith and Brian Bamburg; grandchildren, C.J. B. McCluskey, Chelsea B. Rice, Ryan Smith, Bracen Bamburg, Baylon Bamburg, and David Cole Jacobs; great-grandchild, Haven Smith, and lots of beloved nieces and nephews. The memorial service will be at 4 p.m. on Saturday in the chapel of the funeral home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Dewey Shurling,  passed away Sept 1, 2013 at 77 years old.

 

George Durell "Dewey" Shurling, 77, of Savannah, died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013 at St. Joseph's Hospital.

He was born in Savannah, Ga., and was raised at the Bethesda Home for Boys, and he attended Commercial High School.

He was a member of South Gardens Christian Church, and was retired from Boilermakers Local # 26.

He was a member of the Dixie Land Cruisers of Savannah; Antique Automobile Club of America (Savannah Region), Port City Cruisers, and Our Gang.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Bignault Shurling, Savannah, Ga; brother in law, Francis "Sonny" Bignault, Jr., (Debby), of Savannah; son, Durell "Knuckles" Shurling (Lisa), of Savannah, Ga; 2 daughters, Debra Shurling of Springfield, Ga; and Connie Ondriezek, (Mark S.) of Savannah, Ga; sister, Sandra Daniel, Carrolton, Ga; 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 1 great great granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 5 – 8 p.m. Tuesday at Fairhaven Funeral Home – Hubert C. Baker Chapel.

Funeral Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Hubert C. Baker Chapel, with Rev. Steven Helmly, officiating. 

Interment: Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park.
